And then I thought, "What if Duri found his diary?!" _______________________________________________________________________ May 13, 20XX Daedo City High, Daedo City As my history teacher rambles on and on about history things, I sit at my desk thinking about a girl. A very pretty one, indeed. Is she the one sitting diagonal from me? Is she the one sitting at the front of the classroom, who at first glance appears to be listening attentively, but is actually probably about to fall asleep any minute now? Is she the one who always talks loudly with her friends during the breaks between classes? None of the above. In fact, the one I think of... isn't even here. She's probably out on traffic patrol or something. Chasing a robber down the street. Tripping herself over a plastic cup and as a result losing the culprit. Thinking about these things, I smile and start fidgeting, looking out of the window and paying absolutely no attention to my surroundings. After thinking about the possibilities of what she is doing now, I begin to imagine an ideal romance with her. I imagine that I hold her in my embrace, perhaps steal a quick kiss. I imagine that she holds me with all of her might, telling me to not let go. I imagine that I caress her hair, free of a hair tie. And then my heart is filled with sorrow because all of the thoughts I smiled for just now will forever be delusions. Perhaps if I were 20 years old, I would have had the chance. But I am only a teenager... a mere child who cannot capture the heart of the woman I long for. _______________________________________________________________________ Hana peeked over the wall to see Duri reading through a recent entry of Neon's diary, which by chance fell into his hands one sunny day (Yesterday). Being nosy, he read it without thinking much about it. While reading it after a "tiring" day of school, Duri noticed his brother, and he called him over. "Hey, Hana! Check this out!" Hana rolled his eyes as he went over to Duri's side. He had his arms crossed and everything. "Look, Duri, I don't think we should be reading something so personal. Imagine if Neon found out *your* deepest darkest secrets!" Duri laughed. "Oh, the horror," he said in a singy-songy voice. "Why don't you take a look?" With the notebook shoved in his face, Hana had no choice but to read it. After skimming through it, he gulped. "Wow, I never knew that Neon even liked Officer Oh." "Well!" Duri happily turned the page as he said, "Now you know!" He continued reading. _________________________________________________________________________ That aside, I was just getting started with imagining everything so perfectly in my mind, but I snapped back to reality when the teacher came up to my desk and asked me directly, "Kim Nebok! I said, please answer the question on the board!" _________________________________________________________________________ Upon reading that paragraph, Duri burst out laughing. "Haha! What is this, one of those stupid high school dramas Dingyo's been watching?" After a few minutes, Semo came downstairs with a soccer ball in his hands. Before opening the front door, he called over to Duri. "Hey, Duri, I'm gonna play soccer outside, wanna come with?" Duri didn't even look up from the book. "Nope! I'm busy!" Semo shrugged, and opened the door only to see Neon, who was just about to ring the doorbell. Since it looked like he urgently wanted to say something, Semo just let him in without a word He waited to hear what Neon was going to say. "Hey, kids," Neon started. "Have you guys seen my-" He looked down at Duri, who was holding what he was looking for. He finished his sentence. "-notebook.." Duri noticed Neon glaring at him, and panicked. "Hey, Neon! Nothing going on here!" He still had the book open. Neon started chasing Duri around the ground floor, begging him, repeating, "Give it back!" Duri may be fast, but for the most part Neon was able to keep up with him for a few minutes. After they became tired of running, Duri gave in and gave it back. Grinning, he playfully said, "Well, now I know that you like the police officer lady." "Shut up," Neon retorted, looking away. Duri's smile grew wider as he called Dingyo. "Hey, Juding! You'll never guess what I-" Neon became alarmed, and interrupted Duri, "Don't you *dare* tell Dingyo!" You know, because who knows who she'll tell...
